EMDR Training Presented by: EMDR Support Network
ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:
EMDR Support Network trains therapists from non profits, agencies and private practice, as well as graduate students in helping professions. We are invested in supporting strong trauma informed therapeutic communities. This includes forming relationships with graduate schools and training graduate students. We want therapists to have the the tools that they need to work with their client populations. Beginning therapists often have clients with PTSD and complex trauma and having the tools from this training will help both therapist and client. Our training has a little different flavor than most. We cover the 8 Phases and 3 Prongs of EMDR without variation or deletion. However, we start teaching modifications and basic interweaves for complex trauma in Weekend 1 rather than waiting until Weekend 2. Weekend 1 includes practical tools that can be used immediately to assist the new EMDR therapist with a variety of clients, from simple to complex. EMDR Training is the best time to teach the clinician to fit how they are applying the Standard Protocol to the client's needs and capacities. The trainers will be modeling and trainees will be practicing the skills needed to stay within a window of tolerance while reprocessing. These skills will help a wider range of clients successfully process with EMDR.
