Dr. Guelker recognizes that the defining factor of success in therapy is a supportive and collaborative relationship between the therapist and client that is both comfortable and goal-oriented. With five years as an Active Duty Clinical Psychologist with the US Army, he has established an approach of adaptability and flexibility, while maintaining compassionate and comprehensive therapy services . Dr. Guelker has graduate and post-graduate training in multiple research-supported therapeutic techniques and holds tightly to the science of behavioral health treatment. However, specific interventions aside, he firmly believes in the importance of truly understanding an individual's presenting concerns within the context of his/her environment. Dr. Guelker provides personalized treatment planning and interventions with the goal of developing insight into an individual's personal functioning and resolution to concerns.
Dr. Guelker has experience with a variety of age groups including children, adolescents, and adults. Dr. Guelker offers individual, marriage, couples, and family counseling. In addition, he specializes in psychological evaluation for clinical, diagnostic, and treatment purposes as well as legal needs such as child custody, parenting, and criminal determinations. Dr. Guelker believes in collaborating with other multi-disciplinary providers to coordinate personalized care and evaluations.
