Licensed Clinical Marriage & Family Therapist Licensed Professional Counselor Tysha Osborne believes in providing an environment that is respectful, non-judgmental, challenging, and supportive. She approaches counseling by looking at the whole person (mind, body, soul) and how past experiences can influence the present. Tysha places a special emphasis on how to live in the moment, being gentle/kind on oneself, and how to draw on one's strengths. In addition, Tysha (when appropriate) uses a gentle sense of humor (and some sarcasm) which her client's state make them "feel at ease". In describing her approach to therapy, Tysha taylors the therapy session according to the client's needs, but her main emphasis is on building a relationship. She believes when individuals are willing to look within and do the hard work that therapy requires, change will happen, Tysha is a graduate from Benedictine University (Lisle, IL) where she earned a Master's of Science Degree in Clinical Psychology. She is a licensed clinical marriage and family therapist (Kansas) and a licensed professional counselor (Illinois). She utilizes evidence-based practices including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness/Relaxation, and Family-Based/Family Systems Theory. She is a certified Prepare Enrich Counselor (a Pre-Marital and Marital Assessment tool). When requested she provides Christian counseling for those interested.
