Amy Wichman provides therapy to couples, individuals, and families. She is a lifelong resident of the Clay Center area. Amy and her husband Paul have been married for 30 plus years and have four children in their teens and twenties. In addition to providing therapy at Andrews and Associates, Amy is the Executive Director for Life Choice Ministries, a local pregnancy resource ministry. Amy’s Christian faith is central to who she is, deeply impacting her view of people and relationships, seeing each person as worthy of love and respect and recognizing the intrinsic value of being created in the image of God.
Amy earned her Master’s in Family Therapy in 2009 from Friends University in Wichita. She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, recognizing the importance of relationships and connections in each of our lives. Amy loves to work with couples who are invested in improving their relationship and communication. She has experience working with couples who are facing marital crisis as well as those who have strong marriages which they want to make stronger. Amy integrates the work of John Gottman, attachment theory, solution focused therapy, building on strengths, and others. Biblical and spiritual approaches are foundational and integrated throughout therapy for those couples who want faith to be integrated into therapy.
Amy also works with individuals facing a wide range of relational, life cycle stage, and mental health issues including depression, anxiety, grief, self-esteem issues, adjustment issues, and more. She enjoys working with teens and young adults, especially young women facing a variety of challenging situations and emotions. Amy also facilitates family therapy to assist families in growing stronger, communicating better, and connecting more fully even in the midst of crisis or difficulty.
