Dr. Daffney Kubler-Hoffman, LSCSW, LCAC
Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker
Licensed Clinical Addictions Counselor
Dr. Daffney Kubler-Hoffman is a clinical social worker that specializes in working with those who have experienced trauma and addiction, but first and foremost, meeting clients “where they are at.” Beginning treatment is often a tentative process that requires trust, relationship, and, often, a leap of faith in hopes of making change. She is an experienced therapist prepared to assist you in navigating not only the process of beginning therapy, but also getting the most out of your therapeutic experience. Daffney believes a collaborative approach to attending to what brings you to therapy, as well as an exploration of potentially unidentified issues, can help you to make the changes (big and small) that can help lead to a more fulfilling life experience. She maintains that, while this can be difficult (and uncomfortable at times), the reward is often living in greater freedom and in communion with your authentic self.
Daffney is trained in multiple evidence-based therapies for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) such as Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure (PE), and in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). In addition to training in these trauma-focused modalities, she has been trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Depression (CBT-D), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), as well as other treatment modalities and protocols to address many of the issues that brings someone to treatment.
Daffney is a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker (LSCSW), as well as a Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor (LCAC), in the State of Kansas. She holds Bachelor’s (BSW), Master’s (MSW), and Doctoral (DSW'19) degrees in Social Work, most recently graduating from the University of Southern California’s Doctor of Social Work program. Her experiences includes working in an addiction clinic, an outpatient clinic, the emergency room, an intensive outpatient program, and in family violence agencies.
In addition to being a clinician, Daffney is the wife of a soon-to-be-retired officer in the Army and the mother of three children in the Manhattan community.
